KENYA – Little Lekini’s name means “small and weak.” And it was a fitting name.

Abandoned by his mother at a tender age, Lekini never received proper nutrition or care. At the age of three, he was severely emaciated, weighing only 17 pounds. (more…)

CAMBODIA – Like all expecting parents, Chan and her husband looked forward to the day their baby would be born with excitement and anticipation.

NIGER – As I flew into Niamey, I was excited about my first trip to sub-Saharan Africa and meeting the people that would forever after be a part of my life.

I was a bit shocked that we were preparing for landing and I still wasn’t seeing very many buildings that would normally surround an international airport—even compared to other developing countries I’ve visited. I saw sand, acacia trees, the Niger River, rice fields and then a few homes and buildings as we finally approached the runway. (more…)

AFGHANISTAN – It was in December of 2001 that I came to Afghanistan with Operation Blessing for the first time. With project funds in my hands I was praying, “God, show me where I need to use this money. I want to be able to focus on a community, please help me find a needy place.” (more…)

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti—Today is a heavy day for us here in Haiti as we stop to reflect and pray for the victims and their families. The Haiti earthquake anniversary is bringing back memories and emotions of those difficult hours, days and weeks that we all endured last year.  Yet through the challenges we faced, it’s amazing and miraculous to look back and see our accomplishments and consider how much we were able to achieve as a team. Loads of Hope for Haiti

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – Today we had the official Tide Loads of Hope handover ceremony at the general hospital.  Operation Blessing has been working with the “Loads of Hope” program to help them bring washer/dryer machines to Haiti and completely revamp the laundry facility at the hospital.  Tide also donated washers and dryers to Zanmi Beni children’s home which were also installed this week.  (more…)
