Feeding of the 2,000

by David Darg

OBI has started feeding children living in and around the National Soccer Stadium. Yesterday we handed out hot meals to over 2,000 children.

Help disaster victims now

One of children we met was 10-year-old Jennifer. Her 7-year-old sister was killed in the earthquake and she is now living with her parents in a tent on the field of the soccer stadium.

For many this is the only chance for a good meal they will have all day as food supplies are limited and parents are out of work. The feeding program is part of a multi-faceted intervention where OBI is providing medical care, clean water and food to those taking shelter in the stadium complex.

On Friday, we installed a water purification system in the stadium that is providing clean drinking water to around 3,000 people a day. The Israeli government is also based here with a state-of-the-art field hospital that is providing critical medical care to injured victims.

Please continue to pray with us for these families that have endured so much.
